About The Bridge Project

WHAT IS "THE BRIDGE PROJECT"?
The Bridge Project is a series of anthologies created with the purpose of connecting or creating a "bridge" between different art/comic communities in different cities.

To start off this series the Bay Area & the Northwest region (San Francisco/Portland) were chosen for Volume One. Both regions are tied together by similar social/political atmospheres, similar environments and more importantly are both epicenters of creativity. Each has a rich history of comics as a medium and as cities as a whole, a rare acceptance of the art form.

An artist from each city was teamed up an artist from the other and given the task to create a story. There were no strict guidelines other than the fact that there had to be some reference no matter how big or small to either city.

PRESS
"This is an anthology with a unique goal: team up of cartoonist living in Portland with one living in San Francisco, let them do their thing and see what comes out of it. Some of these stories just have one person drawing, some of them mix both artists in, but the mildly surprising thing is how well all of this works." - Optical Sloth

"As far as anthologies go, The Bridge Project is one of the better books I’ve seen in terms of talent and concept." - Daily Cross Hatch

"Nothing in this sincere, playful little book is likely to knock comic readers' socks off, but it might make them want to get in on the action of future Bridge Projects.." - The Onion: AV Club (mid page)

"The Bridge Project is one of the more delightful anothologies that I have read in a while. It has all the markings of a good indie anthology." - Ink Studs
